Alba’s commercial strategy is to build a business which is capable of commercializing its products in US specialty markets while relying on strategic pharmaceutical partners to sell and market in the broader primary care markets in the US and in all markets outside of the US. This provides a balanced model that we believe maximizes the commercial opportunity for our discoveries and enhances our potential to deliver sustained value creation and commercial growth.
Alba regularly evaluates partnership opportunities that enhance the overall value of our pipeline through a combination of development and commercial capabilities, complementary products or technologies, and financial commitment. In addition to evaluating select strategic corporate partnership opportunities, Alba continues to collaborate with researchers at top-tier academic institutions. Alba has formed over one dozen such research alliances to advance the scientific understanding of our products and disease targets. Alba’s platform technology has generated a rich pipeline that extends into many clinical areas: therapeutics, diagnostics, vaccine adjuvants and drug delivery.
Alba’s lead product development efforts are focused on larazotide acetate to block the autoimmune progression of celiac disease. Alba intends on further developing larazotide acetate in other autoimmune and inflammatory diseases including IBD and IBS. Alba is also developing tight junction inducers for mucosal vaccine adjuvant and select drug delivery applications. View Pipeline
